I would like to thank Grace Community Church Foundation for their financial assistance and spiritual guidance while I attended Duke University Physical Therapy School from 2008-2011. After receiving my Doctorate in Physical Therapy, I moved to Chicago to practice in a Women’s Health outpatient clinic. I enjoyed my experience in the Midwest, gaining exposure to the field of rehabilitation and impacting the lives of many patients. In January 2014, I returned to Durham, North Carolina to begin my residency in Women’s Health at Duke. Residencies in physical therapy are specialized intensive post-professional programs focused on advancement of a therapist’s career by obtaining extensive knowledge and skills. With the support of Grace Community Foundation and the power of God, I have been blessed with the opportunity to obtain an excellent education that has allowed me to provide exceptional care to many people.
My gratitude goes to the Foundation of First Presbyterian (Grace Community) Church of Boca Raton for their encouragement and financial support of my studies at Knox Theological Seminary. While it would have been possible to attend seminary during these years without their help, it would have come with great financial hardship and mounds of student loan debt. My family and I are very thankful that I have finished my Master of Divinity degree completely debt free. I am currently serving as the Assistant Pastor of Music and Youth at Albemarle Road Presbyterian Church in Charlotte NC, and will continue to serve the Lord here for the indefinite future.
I want to thank the Grace Foundation for investing in my education at Denver Seminary. I graduated in May 2010 with a M.Div. Leadership degree. Since my graduation I have continued conducting pastoral training seminars for lay pastors in China serving as president for China Partner, a ministry that was founded by my father in 1989. My father was born and raised in China to German missionaries. China Partner exists to serve the Church in China through equipping their church leaders to effective soul-winners. Our ministry principle is taken from 2 Tim. 2:2 "The things which you have heard from me in the presence of many witnesses, entrust these to faithful men who will be able to teach others also." God is on a mission in China and it is an honor to participate with Him in His mission.
I am grateful for your financial support and prayer. The foundation helped to relieve stress from many financial concerns that school can bring. By your financial support through seminary, I was able to graduate with less financial debt which will help me in my future ministry.
Now that I have graduated, I have begun a chaplain residency program at East Jefferson General Hospital. When I complete this program I will be eligible to apply to become a chaplain at a hospital. I look forward to continuing to serve God as the Youth Pastor at Magnolia Baptist Church. I will appreciate your continued prayers as I continue to follow God.
I am most appreciative of the support rendered by The Foundation as I pursued a seminary education. The gift of dollars was also a vote of confidence as I set out on this journey. Today I am serving as a chaplain at the Masonic Home of Virginia, a Continuous Care Retirement Community. I love the flock that God has given me. It is a volunteer position but I am proposing to the Mason's of Virginia that they support an endowment dedicated to supporting a chaplain at this facility.
